1989
Foundation of Carpintaria São José de António Machado & Filhos, S.A., with 400 m² of facilities and a team of 5 woodworkers.
2001
We went into the retail market by furnishing our first store in the Almada Forum Shopping Center in Portugal.
2002
We opened our new facilities in Riba D'Ave, implementing new management strategies and focusing on retail as a new business area.
2003
Realized our first export for the shop fitting of a store on Calle Serrano in Madrid (Spain).
2005
We carried out our first installation outside the Iberian Peninsula with a project in Copenhagen, Denmark.
2006
Carpintaria São José reaches 50 employees.
2011
We acquired Serginox Ironworks to become part of our organization, leading to the creation of the CSJ brand.
2012
We carried out our first project in Egypt, Africa, and began our operations in Asia with projects in Saudi Arabia and the Philippines.
2013
We received the PME Líder (IAPMEI) title for the first time and reached 80 employees.
2015
We carried out the largest expansion in our history in terms of infrastructure and equipment.
2016
We received the PME Excelência award and reached 140 employees.
2017
We received the PME Merit – More Exports award from IAPMEI. This distinction fills us with pride and had a major impact in the national media.
2018
Tribute from our employees at Grupo CSJ to the founder of Carpintaria São José, on his 80th birthday.
2019
We strengthened our presence in Southeast Asia and executed our first project in the United States and Canada.
2020
Third generation of the Machado family joins the company with Jessica Machado and Bruno Machado taking on roles in production and sales, reinforcing the commitment to continuing the family legacy.
2021
We obtained FSC and PEFC certifications, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability.
2024
Domingos Machado and José António Machado take over the leadership of the Group by acquiring all the shares and carryed out a new expansion of the facilities, increasing production and logistics capacity.
2025
The CSJ Group reaches 200 employees and is awarded the INOVADORA COTEC 2025 title for achieving high standards of innovation, financial strength, and economic performance.
